CEO’s Message: Change came every month in 2024 with more to come in the year ahead!

In this season of reflection, it is both humbling and invigorating to look back on the journey we have taken this year, appreciate the progress made, and prepare for what’s next.
This year was a turning point, setting the stage for an exciting future where we aim to lead the real estate industry in professionalism and innovation.
Before the holiday season is upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the changes and advancements we collectively made in 2024.
Here is a month-by-month summary:
- January: We introduced a REALTOR® pension plan, the first of its kind in Canada, creating a path for financial security for our members in retirement.
- February: We made history with a rebrand, becoming the Greater Vancouver REALTORS®. This was our first re-name and re-brand in 50 years.
- March: We launched The Critical Path, our podcast designed to elevate industry discourse around innovation and professionalism.
- April: Our economics chartbook website went live, arming us with unparalleled statistical insights to help people make more knowledgeable and informed housing decisions.
- May: We launched a major initiative called Service Re-Imagined. This re-engineering project is designed to improve our websites, service provision and the entire member experience. We are preparing to enter the implementation phase, so you can expect to see some transformative service enhancements in the months ahead.
- June: With a commitment to raising the bar, we rolled out changes to our Rules of Cooperation, setting a standard and obligation for timely communication in all transactions.
- July: We introduced new MLS® listing statuses, a change that will ultimately help you and your clients navigate transactions with greater awareness and confidence.
- August: The launch of our region-wide Member Mixer series of events was a celebration of community, fostering deeper engagement across the region.
- September: Our public-facing digital marketing campaign reached over six million unique impressions, raising awareness, and showcasing the value and business sophistication that Greater Vancouver REALTORS® offer.
- October: The PacificWest Conference brought together over 1,400 attendees, and the new managing broker stream introduced by BCREA proved a highlight for professional development.
- November: The REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive marked its 30th year, with members rallying to donate blankets and warm clothing to nearly 20,000 people in need.
- December: We wrapped up the year by adding the Local Logic data tool to Paragon—offering REALTORS® and their clients powerful insights into neighbourhoods, enhancing the way we work and serve the public. This is the latest in a series of new MLS® tools, innovations, and data services we rolled out for members in 2024.
This list is by no means exhaustive, but I hope it gives you a sense of the pace and ambition that drives GVR’s culture today. The work we have completed this year is a testament to our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
We are living in an era of profound disruption where change is constant, but so too is opportunity and we are poised to lead the way.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude for your support and engagement this past year. Together, we have accomplished much, and I am excited to continue navigating the path ahead with you.
