At a special general meeting on October 23, REALTOR® members of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) voted in favour of transitioning REALTOR.ca into a taxable entity, wholly owned by CREA. 

"By transitioning REALTOR.ca into a wholly owned subsidiary, 100 per cent owned by CREA, we’re unlocking new opportunities for innovation and growth while ensuring Realtors remain at the heart of the platform,” said Janice Myers, CREA CEO. 

CREA says the vote ensures that REALTOR.ca, Canada’s most popular real estate website, is positioned for long-term growth and sustainability. 

As a taxable entity, REALTOR.ca can pursue new revenue streams that were not possible under CREA’s not-for-profit structure.
