GVR member recognized for leading Lytton recovery efforts

GVR commercial REALTOR® Troy MacBeth Abromaitis (Lex7em’ken Drynock) received the BC Medal of Good Citizenship - the second-highest civilian honour in the province - at a ceremony on Canada Day. He was one of 18 recipients to receive the medal, presented by Premier David Eby.
Troy is a Sixties Scoop survivor and proud member of the Lytton First Nation. He played a central role in leading culturally rooted housing and recovery projects following the wildfires that devastated his home community in 2021, uniting Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners in the effort.
Currently with Claridge Real Estate Advisors Inc., Troy leveraged his over 20 years of real estate experience to lead housing projects and raise funds, all while keeping culture a central focus to the recovery.
He's also the treasurer of the National Sixties Scoop Healing Foundation supporting victims with culturally grounded healing initiatives, and he founded both National Blanket Ceremony Day and Indigenous Survivors Day.
