Special resolution passes at GVR’s AGM

Members voted to approve the special resolution up for vote at the Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) Annual General Meeting held in Burnaby on March 27.
The effect of the special resolution that members approved will be to strengthen GVR's governance framework, reflecting:
- Updates that align with changes to the Societies Act in 2022/23
- Best practices in modern board governance
- The use of gender-neutral language
The two most notable changes members will see are:
- The removal of proxy voting as now members can attend member meetings and vote either in-person or online, providing a more secure, effective and accessible voting process than the paper proxy voting process
- Relocation of committee provisions from the bylaws to member regulations and detailed terms of reference
Find new wording and other key information about these changes in the AGM package.
Approximately 282 members participated in the AGM at the Delta Hotel Burnaby either online or in-person.
