More than 18,600 Lower Mainland residents will receive blankets and warm clothing this winter from donations collected during the 30th annual REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive.

As part of this year’s campaign, Greater Vancouver REALTORS® also donated $3,864 to local housing-related charities.

"Winter jackets were in high demand this year, with many of our partner charities running out. Now, thanks to our generous Blanket Drive donors, these charities can better help some of the most vulnerable people in our communities."
Diana Dickey, chair, GVR

Between November 12 and 19, over 50 real estate offices in the Lower Mainland served as drop-off locations for donations. Realtor volunteers then collected, sorted, and delivered the donations to local charities. Online financial donations are also collected for partner charities throughout the campaign.

The REALTORS Care® Blanket Drive is a partnership between the Realtors of GVR, the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, and the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board and their communities.

The program is the largest and longest running blanket drive in British Columbia. Since it began in 1994, it has helped more than 500,000 people in our communities keep warm and dry during the winter months.
