Sunshine Coast REALTOR® Elaine Kupka passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in September. She was 85. 

Elaine was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, the second of five children. After settling in Gibsons, she began her 30-year real estate career in 1993 with Top 20 Realty Ltd. In 1998, she moved to Oceanview Realty where she stayed until 2023. 

She also provided strata management services from 2015 onwards for Holywell Properties. Her clients and tenants, and their needs, were always a priority to Elaine. 

"Outside of real estate, Elaine always had a large family and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and most recently, a great grandmother. She was also close friends with several people who were considered extended family members. She dedicated time, love, and support to everyone in her orbit. "

Elaine is survived by her daughters Nicola and Lisa (David), grandchildren Rachel, Dana (Frankie), and Dani, great granddaughter Elouise, sister Faye, brother Richard (Patti), several close friends and colleagues, and countless clients and tenants. 

The family wishes to thank the staff and Elaine’s doctors at Sechelt Hospital and asks that you make an extra effort to be generous or kind to someone who needs support in your life, in Elaine’s memory. 

A celebration of life is being planned for 2026. Details will be shared when they’re available.
