Obituary: Dick Huber
Richard Robert ‘Dick’ Huber passed away in January. He was 82.
Dick was born in Saskatchewan and moved to the Vancouver area with his family when he was young. He developed a passion for athletics in his youth, particularly boxing and running, that developed into the discipline and resolve he carried throughout his life.
He became a REALTOR® in 1991 with Tri-Tel Realty. Throughout his 28-year career, Dick worked in the Maple Ridge area for Brookside Realty, Macdonald Realty, Keller Williams Elite Realty, and Elite Realty Solutions Ltd.
That service included shaping young lives as a beloved soccer coach and Scouts leader, teaching the same lessons that served him so well in life: Always show up, always work hard, never give up, and care for your family, your friends, and your neighbours.
Dick was predeceased by his brother Wayne, a loss that deeply affected him. He is survived by his partner Heather, his sisters Dorothy and Heather, his brother Rudi, and his children Katherine, Ken, Mike, and Chris. He’s also survived by 11 grandchildren with great-grandchildren now beginning to join the family, and countless friends, colleagues, and associates.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Ridge Meadows Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Huber Family Legacy Fund with the Maple Ridge Community Foundation. These funds directly help the Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation.
