  • The Director Information Package outlines what’s expected of GVR Directors — it’s essential reading. 
  • Training and experience: Directors receive top-tier governance and leadership education that builds skills valuable far beyond GVR.

Recommended candidates

As part of the process, GVR’s Board Development Committee (BDC) interviews applicants and identifies recommended candidates — those who best meet the Board’s current needs for competence, commitment, and character.  

Completing CREA’s Leadership 100 course is considered mandatory training for those seeking the Recommended status.  

The BDC operates at arm’s length from the Board of Directors to ensure fairness and transparency.
